Blackstone kept their playoff hopes alive with an impressive away win over the Tropics last night. There is no doubt that Blackstone have a talented side and their poor form has been somewhat of a mystery this season. Last night they were down going into the fourth quarter so it was a testament to their mental strength that a team with a losing record managed to turn the game around away to one of the leagues best sides in the fourth quarter. It will be a huge boost for the Ballymena boys and will keep the pressure on North Star, LYIT and Belfast Star as they push for that 8th playoff spot. Ballymena were led by Adam Hillis with 24 points while Marty McDonald had 23 while Girt Clems had 29 for the Tropics and Mike Calo had 26.

It was a disappointing loss for the Tropics but the good news is that they only have two days for their next game versus the Elks and Mike Calo is as confident as ever that they can get the win they need:[audio:http://thecourtsidecollective.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/mike-calo-on-losing-to-blackstone.mp3|titles=Mike Calo says they will be ready for UU Elks on Wednesday]
