The Brooklyn Nets have been one of the busiest NBA teams this offseason and although Deron Williams is concentrating on the Olympics and Team USA duties, we caught up with him to find out his thoughts on the brand new Brooklyn Nets, their chances in the East vs the Miami Heat and also what he makes of their signing of the Euroleague player of the year Mirza Teletovic. Check out the video interview below where Deron talks about all of this and also tells us about his Irish heritage!
This summer the Brooklyn Nets were able to re-sign Gerald Wallace to a four-year, $40 million deal and then re-signed Deron Williams to a five-year, $98 million deal. To help add more fire power to the back court they pulled off a trade with Atlanta to acquire Joe Johnson from and then re-signed Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries after the much talked about trade for Dwight Howard never materialised. Don’t forget about Marshon Brooks, who had a very solid rookie season, and if Teletovic lives up to his potential the Nets could be one of the elite teams in the East. The 6’9″ power forward averaged 21.2 points and about six rebounds per game in Euroleague play this season and because of his 6’9″ frame, Teletovic will likely play small forward for the Brooklyn Nets.
Check out the video of Teletovic playing in Europe this year and let us know what you think, will be be a star in the NBA? Can the Nets compete with the Heat, Celtics and Bulls in the East with this new roster? Let us know in the comments!
