Ultimate Guide to the Basketball Euros! (For Irish Fans!)

A busy summer is ahead with 8 Irish international teams competing in European Competitions. Levels of coverage will differ from competition to competition but we aim to try and help keep you as up to date as possible with all the action across the continent. We recommend you bookmark this page and check in regularly as content will change and update in advance of each team setting off to try and fulfil their European dreams!

Official Sources

Basketball Ireland have done a much better job in recent years with quicker results, news and features on the international teams. They are an essential follow to keep up to date on all things Irish so make sure you are following them on twitter and like them on Facebook .

The FIBA websites are normally an excellent source of information during the championships with live scoring on the games and comprehensive results, fixtures, game reports and stats. We will update the appropriate links in the section for each championship below.

The hashtag! Last summer the hashtag was #lockupgreen but this year it is #greenshoots – Simply type “#greenshoots” into the search on Twitter or Facebook and you will get a whole series of posts and tweets about Irish Basketball. An excellent and very fast way of finding out what is going on. If you want to join in with the conversation simply add #greenshoots to the end of any Facebook post or tweet that relates to Irish Basketball that you put online!

FIBA European Championship for Small Countries

Unfortunately it looks like this tournaments website isn’t as good as the underage ones. You will still get all fixtures, results and some news here though. We have confirmed with FIBA that these games will NOT be live streamed on their subscription livebasketball.tv service so do not waste your money! We hope that the games will gave live scoring.

Both the men and the women start on Tuesday 28th June and Basketball Ireland have all of the fixtures listed out here in their great guide for all of the teams.

Probably the best way to keep up to date with the squads is through their personal social media. Both teams will be taking over the official TCC snapchat ( CourtsideCo ) so that is a must add!
