Hornets sting Tigers

Last night, Queen’s Hornets picked up their second win against the A-Town Tigers this season in the PEC. Captain of the Hornets, Andrew Dolliver, knocked down several long-range jump-shots early on, tallying 10 of his 17 points in the first quarter. Cesconis was a force to be reckoned with underneath the basket, who also added 17-points for the game.

Hornets’ were poised and efficient, helping build a 14-point lead going into the second quarter. However, leadership from former Irish Superleague players, Gerard Ryan & Kevin Craig, helped keep the game within reach going into the half-time break. The third quarter was all Tigers as they were able to get out in transition and create scoring opportunities for speedy-guard, Stephen Fox. Mulholland, captain of the Tigers, was consistent throughout the duration of the game with a tally of 13-points.

Rory Leddy O’Neil, who had 12-points for the game, helped the home-side to secure defensive rebounds late in the game and in the end, Hornets were able to remain composed in the final ten-minutes, holding Tigers to 8-points in the final quarter.
