Intrepid Sportswear company continues to grow

I was happy to see that this week Rob Grabow, Founder/President of Intrepid Sportswear, announced that they will be supplying all of the apparel for the Entertainers Basketball Classic (EBC) Rucker Park Basketball League for the 2012 EBC season. The EBC is often the highlight of the basketball off-season featuring some of the best players on planet earth and 2012 should be no different:

Around this time last year I was on the hunt for new uniforms for North Star when somehow I stumbled across a website for Intrepid Sportswear, a Seattle-based company that specialises in basketball uniforms. I had heard good things about the company from a few US-based coaches so I sent off an email requesting a quote from them about supplying a club based in Ireland. Rob Grabow replied to me with the bad news – they didn’t supply outside of the USA at this stage. However he also had some good news – he suggested that we trial some uniforms for the European market. As you can imagine we were delighted to take him up on his suggestion!

Win or Lose - at least we always looked fresh on the court!

A few weeks later two full sets of uniforms (a home and an away set) arrived and everyone on the team was extremely impressed with the quality. Within two weeks of North Star wearing the kits during pre-season tournaments the news about the quality had spread and orders had been placed from other Irish clubs. At this time Intrepid had also reached a deal to sponsor the Dublin Thunder who would go on to lift the 2012 National Cup. The quality of the kits is excellent, but what sets the company apart is their customer service, possibly the best I have encountered from any company in any business sector to date.

Isaac Westbrooks of the Dublin Thunder - clearly delighted with his uniform!

Started by Rob Grabow out of his dorm room at Gonzaga University in 2002, Intrepid Sportswear was a jeans and T-shirt operation that started with a simple idea: sell high-quality uniforms at affordable prices. “Money is great, but we’re driven by this goal of trying to bring down uniform prices, because I believe that, generally, they’re way inflated and schools and kids are paying markup that they shouldn’t have to pay,” Grabow recently told the Seattle Times. Intrepid Sportswear is an independent custom team sports apparel provider offering professional-grade uniforms at about half the price of leading manufacturers in the USA and they have served over 6,000 professional, college, high school, and youth teams in all fifty US states and Europe.

If you are looking for a new uniform this off-season you can get in touch with them through their website at where you can use a custom uniform builder to play around with different styles and designs. There are hundreds of design templates or you can contact them directly to talk about the uniform designs you want. The prices are all-inclusive at €60 per uniform, which means that they will work with you to design the uniforms to fit your vision in terms of style, colour, material and sizing’s. No matter what option you choose the price will remain the same.

For contact, you can email and also find them on Facebook , Twitter and Linkedin
