The NBA roadshow was in town this past couple of weeks hosting events in London and Manchester in order to promote their upcoming games in the UK. The OKC Thunder will be taking on the 76ers at the Manchester Arena on October 8th and the Atlanta Hawks playing the new look Brooklyn Nets in a regular season game at the O2 in January.
The NBA held two main events to promote these games with 3 x 3 competitions, skill exhibitions and much more taking place over two weekends in London and Manchester.
I went along to check it out and I wasn’t disappointed, as the old saying goes if you want something done right then
do it yourself call the NBA. I have managed to attend numerous NBA events over the past five or so years and the constant theme is one of efficiency, professionalism and attention to detail that the huge NBA machine which runs these events operates with.
Check out some of the highlights from the events below including the media game round up and a RIDICULOUS dunk that got Serge Ibaka off his seat going crazy!
I was lucky enough to be invited to take part in the London “Media Game” with the bonus of All-Star Al Horford there to give some advice.
Check out the highlights from the media game in this video. All I can say is that cameraman clearly wasn’t paying attention when I was dominating!
The fans were then treated to some insane dunking antics in between intense 3 x 3 battles. But there was no doubt about it the highlight of the weekend had to be this crazy dunk which was caught by Sam Neter of Hoopsfix . Sam had already proved he could ball in the media game, crafty lefty with a nice stroke, and managed to catch this dunk which quickly went viral, check it out!
Even in the depths of the offseason the NBA fever has started and we can’t wait for the new season and the upcoming games in Manchester and London!
