Tonight the Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the 2016 NBA Finals. This is why these guys play, nothing is more important right now. But these finals more than any other in recent memory, have substantially more meaning. Win or lose these 2016 NBA Finals mean everything and more to both teams involved.

Dermot recently visited Rajnandgaon at the request of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). During the 3 days spent there, Dermot was able to check out the talented players in attendance and identified 14 exciting prospects to work within his consultancy’s development pathway. One of these players, a 6’11’’ 15 year old boy from Punjab state, has since been offered a full scholarship to the prestigious world class Spire Academy in Ohio, USA. In addition to these 14 players Dermot Identified 82 other boys and girls to offer international scholarship opportunities to.
In a series that begs the question; just how good is the home cooking? The Cavs lead 3-2 after a hard fought battle in Game 4 in Toronto and an absolute thrashing of the Raptors again back in the comfy confines of the Q in Cleveland in Game 5.
The season series has seen the two best teams in the East never lose at home. A good sign, if you’re a Cavs fan, having home court advantage. It also has you wishing this team could go up North and stick their foot on the proverbial throat and end this in Game 6.

After game 4 of the Western Conference Finals there has been a lot of talk about how Russell Westbrook is destroying Stephen Curry. Even with the game 2 no-show there is no doubt that Russ has been the best player in this series and perhaps the playoffs as a whole. He takes ‘bad’ shots, plays out of control on occasion and is one of the worst help defenders starting in the playoffs but more than makes up for it with his aggression and physical superiority, best exemplified when he goes on one of his violent one man fast breaks finished with an explosion to the basket.
