Tony McGaharanCo-Founder: Tony McGaharan is a dedicated hoops fan who has a passion for coaching and promoting Irish basketball. He co-founded TCC in his kitchen back in 2011, aspiring to connect Irish basketball fans across the country and the world. Tony currently lives in Dublin and works in a large tech company.



Niall McDermottCo-Founder: Niall McDermott is the owner of and is one of the original co-founders of TCC. He has played & coached hoops at various levels. Niall currently lives in Derry and is helping to grow the game through his club, North Star.



Andrew Sanders

Editor-in-Chief: Andrew Sanders grew up in Scotland, competing on the Rugby field. Although late to the game, he has played in the Irish Superleague & BBL. Andrew now lives in Texas and is an academic working for University College Dublin. He is TCC’s Editor-in-Chief.


Resident Yankee: Jack Mackey, originally from New York, is a former Victory Scholar who lived in Co. Donegal while in Ireland and currently resides in Dallas, Texas. During his playing days he was known for perfecting the amount of abuse you can give referees without being given a technical foul. He will cover all things NBA for TCC.

Paul DickGermany: Paul Dick is currently living in Germany playing his first year of professional basketball. After a spell in America riddled with injury, Paul is reviving his career one year at a time…..and doing it in style too!



Orla O'ReillySpain: Orla O’Reilly is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton, where she had a very successful four years in NCAA Division One. She grew up in Cork and has represented Ireland at various levels. Orla is now residing in Spain, enjoying the sunshine and dropping jumpers as a Pro with Club Baloncesto Bembibre.



John CarrollUSA: John Carroll grew up in Dublin but has spent two years hooping in IMG Academy in East Florida & another year as a post-graduate at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. John is a Freshman at Hartford, NCAA Division One.





Tony McGaharan

Co-founder of The Courtside Collective, Tony has been a player, scorekeeper, referee, coach and MC. A true fan of the game! In 2009, he coached women's basketball in Sweden for a season with the Umeå Comets ("Udominate"). He then returned home and worked with PeacePlayers International, which uses the game of basketball to bring young people together from divided communities. Tony has since joined Google and has worked in Dublin, Singapore, and now London. He is now working to create a new basketball league to provide a better basketball experience for ballers in central London and with the added goal of engaging young people in the sport.
