Members of Tottenham Hotspur and the USA Men’s National Soccer Team tried their hand at basketball when they took part in the NBA #HalfCourt Challenge at Tottenham’s Enfield Training Centre.
Representing Spurs were Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue, Brad Friedel and Jordan Archer whilst Aston Villa’s Brad Guzan and Stoke City’s Geoff Cameron were amongst the USA players who took turns at the challenge which saw them have five chances to score a basket from the half-court distance.
The Americans showed everyone how it was done with Geoff Cameron netting for the USMT and Brad Friedel dropping one in for Spurs.

Following the challenge Brad Friedel explained how he got into basketball saying: “I grew up in Cleveland, basketball is one of the main sports” and Geoff Cameron said: “growing up in America obviously you play a lot of basketball!”
Speaking ahead of the NBA Global Games London 2015, which will see the New York Knicks take on the Milwaukee Bucks, Etienne Capoue explained who he will be supporting: “the Knicks, because I love Carmelo Anthony!”
The players also revealed who their favourite basketball player of all time was with Stoke City’s Geoff Cameron saying: “my favourite player is definitely Ray Allen” and Brad Guzan and DaMarcus Beasley both selecting Michael Jordan.

The stars were also asked to name a fantasy basketball team made up of their footballing peers. Brad Guzan said: “I’d definitely put Peter Crouch on their to play in the middle” and DaMarcus Beasley agreed: “Peter Crouch, but I don’t know if he’s athletic!” Brad Friedel said: “I might actually put Etienne Capoue in, he’s actually not bad, don’t tell him that!” Guzan also said: “I’d have Messi running the point guard” and selected himself to play as a power forward whereas DaMarcus Beasley and Geoff Cameron decided they’d fill the point guard position in their respective teams.
